Welcome to another wrap-up post! I know I’ve been quiet this month but traveling and university prep has kept me extremely busy! I didn’t quite get to all the books I was hoping to read this month, especially the summer themed ones, but there’s still hope for August!
Books Read:
I need to get better at reading more of the books I own as this month only 1 of the 6 that I read were from my physical tbr! I think it’s also high time I went on another book buying ban as said tbr is getting out of control.
And the best book I read this month was…
Love & Gelato! I started listening to the audiobook version of this one on a whim when I was looking for a summery book to read and it really took me by surprise! I haven’t had much luck with contemporaries lately but this one was full of heart and took an honest look at grief and the meaning of family. I highly recommend picking it up before the summer’s out if you can!
New Books Acquired:

One of my highlights from this month was FINALLY getting my hands on the Owlcrate edition of The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd Jones!! It’s absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to read it. Invisible Son is the latest from Kim Johnson whose debut This is My America I adored and Flashtide is the sequel to Flashfall which featured in last month’s wrap-up!
New Releases:
Also check out Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas!
- Here’s what former US President Barrack Obama is reading this summer!
- HarperCollins is closing the doors to imprint Inkyard Press
On a closing note, I also had the opportunity to visit Camp YA, a book festival in London which was held in person for the first time this year and got to see and interact with many UK authors and publishers on a smaller scale which was a lot fun! Let me know in the comments if you got up to anything exciting in July. Happy Reading 🙂
