How are we halfway through this year already?! I can’t even begin to wrap my head around that. The good thing though is summer is here!! Well, in London I guess you could say it’s more like spring, but you can be sure that I’ve been watching a TON of summer reading vlogs to get in the mood!
Books Read:
I read five books in May! Not a lot for me but I think I’m finally learning how to enjoy a book slowly so I’m happy with that number because that’s one thing I really wanted to focus on this year and the reason I didn’t set a very ambitious reading goal. In terms of quality this month, I’d say it was more of a mixed bag. I read one amazing book but there was a few meh ones as well.
And the best book I read this month was…
The Genesis Wars by Akemi Dawn Bowman! This is the long awaited sequel (for me at least) to The Infinity Courts which I read back in 2021 and it was just as good as I thought it would be! I absolutely love the author’s writing style and am counting down the days until book three comes out next year!
Books Acquired:
I was sent 3 ARC’s this month which was crazy exciting (and more to come in the June wrap-up!), picked up a few books on a trip to Oxford with my mom where we got to see Barbara Kingsolver talk about her newest release Demon Copperhead, and then bought a couple others with my birthday money!
